Following a recent change in manufacturing method for Preside™ herbicide in the 500g bottles, the bulk density of this product has changed.
This has necessitated a change in the calibrated measuring device supplied and used with this product.
Use of the previously supplied Preside volumetric cylinders (measuring to 260g) on this new product will result in a significant underdose in application, which is likely to result in performance issues in the field.
The new batch of Preside herbicide 500g to be released in early August will contain newly calibrated volumetric cylinders, measuring to 210g.
We ask that retail branches, contractors and farmers:
1. Immediately check store shelves and spray sheds for existing Preside stock and any existing volumetric cylinders, measuring to 260g. This should be prioritised for sale and use, then those measuring devices should be permanently discarded. Any spare 260g measuring devices should be immediately discarded.
2. Only display, sell and measure Preside herbicide 500g purchased from Corteva Agriscience from August 2022 with the newly calibrated 210g cylinders. Preside may also be measured using weigh scales.
Preside 500g bottles containing the new density product will have a sticker on the lid with the following wording:
“WARNING: Only use new measuring devices or weigh scales. Dispose of old devices.”
